This tours will be completely carry out in the Southern Jungle of Peru within the Parque Nacional del Manu (Manu National Park), located in the Western of Puerto Maldonado. We will enter into this area from Cuzco. This National Park is one of the most important of the tropical parks of the world, and was declared as Biosphere World Reserve by the UNESCO in the 70’s, it houses 1000 birds species approximately, 150 species of mammal and other living beings. It is said that10% of each vegetal specie of the planet have been registered in this Park. Within the Park, we can identify different ecological floors, which go from 984 ft (300 masl) to 13120ft (4000 masl) with temperatures between 18ºC and 34ºC.

Day 01 LIMA
- Arrival to Lima.
- Reception and transport in Lima to the selected hotel.
- Welcoming and briefing.
Day 02 LIMA / CUZCO
- Light breakfast in the Hotel of Lima.
- Transport to the Airport at the scheduled time to take the domestic flight to Cuzco.
- Reception and transport to the Hotel in Cuzco.
- Night in Cuzco.
Day 03 CUZCO
- Breakfast served at the hotel of Cuzco.
- Day off to visit tourist sites of the Cuzco Inka City, you may take the optional tours that we can also provide.
- Night in Cuzco
- Lodging in a comfortable Hotel.
Day 04 CUZCO / HUACARPAY
- Breakfast served at the hotel of Cuzco
- We head for the area around Huacarpay located at 30 km (19 miles) of the Cuzco city.
Huacarpay is composed by three main small lagoons, (Huaton, Huacarpay and Lucre) and four marshes (Huascar, Uncca, Anchibamba and Huacarpay), offering a variaty of aquatic habitats, which include areas of relatively depth and little lagoons plenty of aquatic vegetation with muddy areas and flood grasslands. The mountain grasslands offer thorny thickets and bushes. We also can find typical birds from Andean wetlands such as grebes, ducks, gallinules and coots, also the Andean “negrito” and sometimes the migratory Hudsonian Godwit and Baird’s Sandpiper, as well as the Yellow-winged Blackbird, Many-colored Rush-Tyrant; of shrublike thickets such as the humminbird, Giant Hummingbird, Green-tailed Trainbearer, Bearded Mountaineer, besides the Rusty-fronted Canastero, Streak-fronted Thornbird among others.
We will camp in tents.
Day 05 MANU
This day we will accommodate us in the comfortable Cloud Forest Paradise Lodge, where we will stay overnight. The lodge lies in the heart of the cloud Jungle, 6 hours by road from Cuzco in the rainforest, which represents unique scenery where the strangest plants such as the orchid, bromeliads and giant ferns, which are the habitat of different bird species. During our birdwatching sightseeing, we will pass through some indigenous communities settled in the dirt road. We can watch the following Collared Trogon, Military Macaw, Fasciated tiger Heron, Hoatzin, Spix`s guan, Venezuelan flycatcher, among others.

Day 06 MANU
Early morning, we start the day with great surprises; firstly, we will watch beautiful humminbirds close to us, then we will go to the Lek of Cock-of-the-Rock, in which we will see a group of males in their daily courting ritual to get a female.
Later on, the rest of the day we will go trekking down the different dirt roads watching local birds such as Razor-billed Curassow, Red and green Macaw, Ringed kingsfisher, Scarlet Macaw, Sunbittern, among other species. In the afternoon, we go back the lodge to stay overnight.
Day 07 MANU
In the morning, we will take a delicious breakfast and go to the Amazonian Lodge.
This lodge is located in the tropical jungle of lowlands; pre-mountain zone of the Manu Biosphere Reserve, this area was commitment to the sowing tea during the 70’s.
This lodge is considered one of the best places to the birdwatching in Peru, since you will watch 619 bird species. During the 80’s, in this place, ornithological expeditions settle down to carry out researching. Furthermore, many butterflies, amphibious, reptiles, orchids and bromeliads were found.
Birdwatching will be carry out in different habitats such as bamboo forest, flood plain, forest with hills and marshy habitats, here you can see the Koepcke's Hermit, White-bearded Hermit, Gray-breasted Sabrewing, Black-eared Fairy, Golden-tailed Saphire, Blue-tailed Emerald, Rufous-crested Coquete, Amethyst Woodstar.

Day 08 MANU
We will spent this day to do birdwatching in the dirt roads around the lodge plenty of species such as the Black-capped Tinamou, Blackish Rail, Hoatzin, Buckley's Forest Falcon, Wattled Guan, Military Macaw, Bluish fronted Jacamar, Fine-barred Piculet, Scarlet-hooded Barbet, Cabani's Spinetail, Bamboo Antshrike, Manu Antbird, Amazonian Antpitta, Rusty-belted Tapaculo, among others. In this lodge will go up to a watch tower of 65 height feet located on a mountain of 2380 feet (725 meters), 141 bird species have been watched from this tower.
We will stay overnight in the Amazonian Lodge.
Day 09 - 10 MANU
After a succulent breakfast, we will go down through the Rio Madre de Dios until the Pantiacolla Lodge. This Lodge was built on 1000 hectares in the mountains of the zone, with comfortable shacks and spacious halls to rest and then check our sightseers. Approximately, 500 bird species can be watched around, most of them are endemic of the zone, for this purpose Pantiacolla Lodge has created a path network allowing us to trek and do birdwatching at least 8 different habitats.
On day 9 you can listen and watch Tinamoes, much antbirds and Manakins, and also you will watch birds from brook, someone can watch hummingbirds and womanizet sat down on the gardens of the Lodge around. We stay overnight in the Panticolla Lodge.
On day 10, we will go through the paths to the viewpoint; it has an incredible view on the Amazonian plain extension. At nights, we can listen the song of Long tailed Potoo, and during the day we can watch the White-browed Hawk, Grey bellied Hawk, Orange breasted Falcon, Pale-winger Trumpeter, Blue-Headed Macaw, Amazonian Parrotlet, Black-billed Cuckoo, Rufous-vented Ground-Cockoo, Yellow-billed CuckooKoepcke’s Hermit, Pavonine Quetzal, Semicollared Puffbird, Scarlet-hooded Barbet, Manu Anrbird, Goeldi’s Antbird among others. We stay the overnight in Pantiacolla Lodge.

Day 11 MANU
- We take breakfast before leaving the Pantiacolla Lodge.
- We take a boat to the Lodge Boca Manu.
In the afternoon, we will explore the lodge near paths.
- Stay overnight in the Lodge Boca Manu.
Day 12, 13, 14 MANU
Going out from Lodge in Boca Manu, we will take the boat and go to the Lago Salvador (Salvador Lake), this is a beautiful lake located at areoun 20 minutes from the Manu River brook.
Here in cocha Salvador, you can also see the giant nutria (Pteronura brasiliensis) endangered specie and the black cayman (Melanosuchus Niger).
Regarding birds, we will watch the Hoatzin, Least Grebe, Amazonian Parrotlet, Pavonine Cuckoo,Pheasant Cuckoo, Barred Woodcreeper, Point-Tailed Palmcreeper, Bambo Antshrike, Spot-winged Antshrike, Hairy-crested Antbird, Striated Antthrush, Southern Scrub-Flycatcher, Long-crested Pygmy-Tyrant, Cinnamon Tyrant-Manakin, among others.
We will set up an excellent camp in the Salvador Lake surroundings (Salvador Lake), on 12th, 13th and 14th. We will sleep in tents and this will be an excellent experience.
Day 15 Manu
In the morning, still in the lake around, we take a good breakfast to take the boat to Blanquillo lodge.
Once we are booked in the Blanquillo Lodge, a short trip by motorized canoe will take us to the lodge toward the Cocha Camungo. During the trekking, we are likely to watch the different species of maquisapanas monkies down trekking or spider monkeys and emperor tamarin monkey, the latest a little and odd specie. A number of birds mixed flock such as tangaras among others attracting our attention.
We will stay overnight in the Blanquillo Lodge.
Day 16 Manu
Once in the Blanquillo Lodge, we will wake up early to go to our hideout, where we will see the colpa, where hundred of parakeets and macaws arrive to eat clay, this is a beautiful sight, and this collpa is located at ten (10) minute downriver through Madre de Dios.
This collpa is a clay wall of 20 ft height by 1500 ft width just in the river book, here all this birds activity can be photographed and registered from 30 distance meters.
Usually this day start at 6:00 AM, when the first couples appears, these go to the colpa nearest trees, later on these are followed by hundred of them, the first arriving are the Blue-headed Parrots, then the Red and Green Macaws, the Blue and Yellow Macaw and the Sacarlet Macaw. With no doubt, this is a great sight.
Stay overnight in Lodge Blanquillo.
Day 17 Manu - Puerto Maldonado
After breakfast, we will go to take the boat that will lead us to Colorado where we will take a bus to Puerto Maldonado to stay overnight.
Day 18 Puerto Maldonado - Lima
- Breakfast served at the hotel.
- We will take the departure flight to the Airport in Lima, at the appropriate time.
- Reception and transfer to the selected hotel.
- Stay overnight Lima.
Day 19 Lima
- Breakfast served at the hotel.
- Transfer from the Hotel to the Airport to take the departure flight to our country.
- Assistance at the Airport.
